Silverman Institute for Health Care Quality and Safety
Founded in 2007 by Mrs. Lois Silverman and her late husband Norman, the Silverman Institute for Health Care Quality and Safety is the coordinating hub for the wide array of BIDMC quality and safety initiatives. The mission of the Institute is to promote excellence in patient care through sponsorship of innovation, education, and research in quality and safety.
Each year, the Institute sponsors a symposium focused on current topics in the field of quality and patient safety as well as a Medical Center wide celebration and recognition of continuous process improvements that support our goals of eliminating preventable harm, engaging patients and families in their care, ensuring safe, timely, effective and equitable care for all, and stewarding our resources appropriately.
