Stroke Care at BIDMC
Each year, over 500 patients are treated for stroke symptoms at BIDMC.
In 2008, BIDMC was recognized by the Massachusetts Department Health to be a Primary Stroke Service Provider. With strong, coordinated approaches to care, BIDMC's Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Radiology, Lab Services and Nursing staff work together to ensure safe, effective and efficient services.
BIDMC actively participates in the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's "Get with the Guidelines®-Stroke" program - a national collaborative aimed at ensuring best practices and strong outcomes for all Stroke patients.
Patients who are admitted to BIDMC with signs or symptoms of having had a stroke should receive those elements of care that are demonstrated to lead to the best results. The information below tells you how closely BIDMC has been following recommended guidelines for stroke care. For more information about the measure, click on the name of the measure.
