Rethinking the Brain

Panel Discussion with Bonnie Wong, Ph.D., Alvaro Pascual Leone, M.D., Ph.D., and Ron Alterman, M.D.On Thursday, April 4, the BIDMC Board of Overseers presented Rethinking the Brain: Applying new concepts in neuroscience to prevent disease and improve health. This exciting hands-on event focused on a relatively new concept in neuroscience that turns the long-held belief that the adult human brain is hard-wired and unchangeable on its head. Through interactive exhibits and informative discussions, attendees learned about our leading-edge advances that do not simply mask the symptoms of neurological disease, injury, or aging, but actually change the brain and alter its long-term function. For photos from the event, take a look at our photo gallery.
