Our Team
The Division of Transplantation is under the leadership of Douglas W. Hanto, MD, PhD, who has extensive clinical experience in liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, and overall administrative responsibility for the management of a transplant program.
Transplantation is a complex, long-term process. Each transplant recipient and donor is a unique individual with a diverse set of needs. The Transplant Team at BIDMC is a multidisciplinary group of experts who are committed to compassionate patient involvement throughout the entire process: the initial evaluation, transplant surgery and follow-up care. Each member is an expert in his or her field and has experience in the special issues of transplant patients.
