Your Stay in the Hospital
Surgery to treat hepatobiliary disease may be a laparoscopic (minimally invasive) or open (more extensive) operation. Typically with laparoscopic procedures, you are released from the hospital on the same or following day. Open surgery and other more complicated procedures may require a longer stay in the hospital. The length of hospitalization is about 5~7 days. During this time, a team of specially trained physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and others will provide constant care and monitoring.
