Robert A. Frankenthaler, MD
Chief, Division of Otolaryngology
Dr. Frankenthaler received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, and his residency in Otolaryngology at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Frankenthaler completed a two-year fellowship in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He is board certified in Otolaryngology and is Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School. His clinical interests include head and neck tumor surgery, laryngology, rhinology, sleep disorders, and sinus surgery.

David S. Caradonna, MD, DMD
Dr. Caradonna received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Otolaryngology in Boston, and his fellowship in Anesthesiology at Boston Medical Center. He attended dental school at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Caradonna is board certified in Otolaryngology and is an Instructor of Otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School. His clinical interests include sinus disease, voice disorders, rhinology, sleep disorders, and head and neck surgery.

Selena E. Heman-Ackah, MD, MBA
Medical Director of Otology, Neurotology, and Audiology
Dr. Heman-Ackah received her medical degree from University of Cincinnati-College of Medicine, Cincinnati, where she also completed her MBA. She completed a two-year Neurotology fellowship in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at New York University and her Otolaryngology residency in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Board certified in Otolaryngology, Dr. Heman-Ackah's clinical interests include chronic ear disease, hearing loss, vertigo, tinnitus, facial paralysis, and tumors of the ear and cerebellopontine angle. Her research interests include advances in cochlear implantation and preventive therapies for acquired hearing loss.

Samuel J. Lin, MD
Dr. Lin, who is board certified in both plastic surgery and otolaryngology, received his MD from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and completed residencies in both otolaryngology and plastic surgery, also at Northwestern. After his residency in plastic surgery, Dr. Lin completed a fellowship in microvascular surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, in Houston. Currently, Dr. Lin serves as the BIDMC residency site director of the Combined Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency Program, and is the co-director of the Harvard Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Fellowship. As an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Lin is active in both basic science and clinical research with a focus on nerve rehabilitation, rhinoplasty, breast reconstruction, and body contouring along with general reconstruction. Dr. Lin has published papers and serves on the review boards of both plastic surgery and otolaryngology peer-reviewed journals. He is the editor of several medical textbooks including "An Aesthetic Atlas of the Head and Neck," "Atlas of Body Contouring Procedures," and "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Pearls of Wisdom."

Pavan S. Mallur, MD
Dr. Mallur received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, where he also did his residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He completed a year-long fellowship in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Board-certified in Otolaryngology, Dr. Mallur's clinical interests include the medical and surgical management of all voice disorders, including care of the professional voice, and the diagnosis and surgical treatment of upper airway stenosis and swallowing disorders. His research interests include 532nm KTP laser treatment and treatment of vocal fold scar.

Lydia T. Colón, AuD, CCC-A
Dr. Lydia Colón received her Doctor of Audiology degree (AuD) from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., and a BS in Communications Disorders from University of Massachusetts Amherst. She completed a clinical fellowship in Audiology at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, and previously served as an Audiologist at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Most recently, Dr. Colón worked in the Audiology department at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary before joining the team at BIDMC. She is well-versed in diagnostic testing of the hearing and balance system and hearing loss management. Dr. Colón’s research interests include cochlear implants and the auditory rehabilitation process associated with cochlear implantation.

Lydia Gregoret, AuD, PhD
Dr. Lydia Gregoret received her Doctor of Audiology degree (AuD) from Northeastern University in Boston, and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed an externship in audiology at Massachusetts Ear Nose and Throat Associates/Nashua Hearing Group in Nashua, NH. Prior to a career in audiology, Dr. Gregoret was a faculty member at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she conducted research and taught chemistry and biochemistry, and at Brandeis University, where she helped launch the Bioinformatics graduate program. She is an advocate for individuals with hearing loss and has served on the boards of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the Gift of Hearing Foundation. Dr. Gregoret’s research interests include cochlear implants and the genetics of hearing loss.
