On December 1, Kevin M. Ban, MD, will assume the role of Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer here at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. Dr. Ban will have administrative oversight of the Medical Staff Office, coordination of the hospitalist program, and will play an integral role in continuing to drive the quality and safety program to its highest potential. Dr. Ban attended Georgetown University School of Medicine. He was a resident in General Surgery at Thomas Jefferson Medical College and then in Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Ban has been an attending physician both here in Needham and at the Medical Center since 2003. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ban recently served as the project director for the Harvard Medical Faculty Physician (HMFP) group's Emergency Medicine initiative in Tuscany, Italy.
