Savina Davos, RN, Elaine Munchbach, RN, and Diane Alfieri, RN, each received a nursing award which highlights their individual contributions to patients and staff.

Savina Davos, RN, was presented with the Clinical Leadership Award which recognizes her ability to continually demonstrate effective communication with members of her team and her patients' families. Davos was nominated by her peers for her professionalism in managing conflicts, developing new approaches for improved patient care, and always using sound judgment when making decisions.

"When I was presented with this award, I was profoundly honored, touched and equally humbled by the recognition from my peers. It was amazing to receive this distinction," said Savina. "I have been a nurse for many years and continue to have a deep passion for the profession. At the end of the day when I leave the hospital, my hope is that I have given 100%, touched the lives I needed to, made the right decisions, and learned something new that will make a difference in my practice."

Elaine Munchbach, RN, received the Team Award. This award recognizes Munchbach for her ability to cultivate a work environment based on mutual respect while still continuing to accomplish the unit and departmental goals. Co-workers stated Munchbach is an invaluable member of the BID-community for always showing compassion, integrity and balance in her decision making.

Diane Alfieri, RN, received the Clinical Practice Award. This award recognizes Alfieri as a resource for others. In presenting the award her peers commented that Alfieri continually ensures the proper standards of care are met and plays a vital role processing clinical data and information to generate the most efficient patient outcomes.
