Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham earns the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for accreditation by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety in hospitals.
The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons grants a three-year accreditation with commendation to the cancer program at BID-Needham, ensuring that patients have access to comprehensive care, a multi-specialty physician approach, information about clinical trials and new treatment options and access to cancer-related information, education, support.

Also in 2012, BID-Needham invests in a multi-million dollar advanced laboratory testing system, which integrates multiple technologies; increasing testing capacity and efficiency while providing flexibility to grow as our needs change.
And, BID-Needham launches a
mobile website, providing quick access to Emergency Department wait times, directions, and information about hospital departments.
