Census 2010: Did you do your part?

For the past three months, Bowdoin Street Health Center has been getting the word out about how important the Census is and why everyone must be counted. We have participated in this effort by posting multi-lingual signage in our facility, going door to door handing out census information, hosting info sessions for residents, notifying patients and residents of job opportunities with the Census Bureau and lastly serving as a drop-in site for residents with questions or needing assistance completing the form.
Those with immigrant status make up a large portion of our patient population and our participation has eased many concerns on how this information is used and why it is necessary. The health center is pleased to participate in Census 2010 and hopes that everyone does their part!
