Full Range of Services

The Structural Heart Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) provides the full range of services for structural defects of the heart.

  • Therapies for adult congenital structural disease such as atrial septal defect, patent foramen ovale with cryptogenic stroke, patent ductus arteriosis and cardiomyopathies.
  • Therapies for acquired structural disease of the aortic and mitral valves, left atrial appendage occlusion in atrial fibrillation, left ventricular pseudoaneurysms and paravalvular leaks.
  • Advanced cardiac imaging for structural disease, including 320 detector multi-slice computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and three dimensional transthoracic, transesophageal and intracardiac echocardiography.
  • Research programs that provide patients with new treatment options through participating in clinical trials, including studies targeting aortic valve disease and atrial fibrillation.
