The Transplant Clinical Pathways are intended to assist in clinical decision making by describing a range of generally acceptable interventions and outcomes. The guidelines attempt to define practices that meet the needs of most patients under most circumstances. However, the ultimate judgment must be made based on circumstances that are relevant to that patient and treatment may be modified according to the individual patient needs.

The transplantation clinical pathways on this website were developed at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Transplant Institute and implemented for use in 2006. We are making them available on our website for educational purposes only. These pathways are not intended to replace the services of transplant professionals, nor do they constitute a doctor-patient relationship. These pathways are provided for informational purposes only and are not practice standards for anyone outside the transplant team at our institution.
