The Transplant Team at BIDMC is a multidisciplinary group of experts who are committed to compassionate patient involvement throughout the entire process: the initial evaluation, pre-transplant care, transplant surgery and follow-up care. Each member is an expert in his or her field and has experience in the special issues of transplant patients.

Donating a kidney to a person in need - be it loved one, friend, or stranger - is a wonderful and courageous gift. At the Transplant Center, we support our living donors with education and guidance, carefully explaining the risks and benefits of the surgical procedure, protecting your rights and privacy, and ensuring complete confidentiality. We have dedicated a living donor nurse coordinator to manage your care and services, and provide support to you and your family.
