BIDMC Boston Marathon Support Services

We’re here for you

Individual support Marathon

BIDMC has organized support groups for those who have been affected by the devastating events of last year’s marathon. These support groups can help you reflect on your experience, learn about common responses to trauma, get support and discover ways to prepare to mark the one year anniversary of the bombings. You can pick the support groups that best work for you. All services are free.


In-person support group 

Weekly support groups - ongoing enrollment

Time

Tuesdays, 6pm - 7:30pm
Thursdays, 11am - 12:30pm

Video-conference support group 

For those directly impacted by the bombings, as well as for family members/caregivers of those affected. Utilizing video technology, you can connect with people who are experiencing similar emotions in this facilitated support group. At this time, this option is limited to those residing in Massachusetts.

Meditation group

Facilitated by BIDMC Buddhist Chaplain, Tsering Lama Yodsampa. Meditation is an ancient art of combining skillful methods and wisdom to discover one’s own inner strengths and resources. In the group, participants will gain greater perspective into their lives, cultivating greater happiness and well-being.
