Palliative Care Consultation Services
What is Palliative Care?
Palliative care is an interdisciplinary specialty that helps patients and their families live as well and as fully as possible when faced with a serious illness. Unlike hospice, which focuses on care at the end-of-life, palliative care is appropriate during any phase of a serious or advanced illness, even while patients are receiving curative and life-prolonging treatment.
The goal of palliative care is to enhance the lives of patients with any advanced or serious illness, regardless of prognosis.
