What do you think ultimately made you choose BIDMC?
BIDMC has excellent benefits, including a work/life balance. I felt that the nature of this was evidence that BIDMC was truly invested in their workforce. And I was excited to be a part of a large teaching medical center with a wonderful reputation.
Of the reasons you chose your profession, which are accentuated by working at BIDMC?
Having a Master's degree in Social Work, I have always been invested in helping people grow and thrive in their environment. BIDMC shares that same investment by having Retention Managers on staff, as well as a workforce development program. My ideas are accepted and program initiatives encouraged. I feel it's a great fit!
What's the most rewarding part of your work at BIDMC?
Medical Imaging is a fast growing, high demand field. The folks in Radiology are very skilled and well trained individuals. I feel my role helps keep these talented individuals here and makes BIDMC one of the best medical centers, not only to work for, but also for medical care.
Generally speaking, can you describe your ideal workday?
My ideal day is one where I connect with direct care staff and learn what it's like to be in their shoes. The key to successful organizational management is knowing what happens on the floor day to day. BIDMC encourages this and considers it a high priority.
